Incab Won Arctic Tender

Incab LLC has won the competitive tender to supply cable for the Arctic Synergy project: over 3,500 km for one of Russia’s largest telecom undertakings. Following the competitive procedures, Incab LLC took first place in the tender to supply fibre optic cable for Arctic Synergy — one of Russia’s largest domestic telecommunications infrastructure projects, located in the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia). Under the contract, Incab will manufacture and ship more than 3,500 km of optical cable, roughly half of the project’s total volume. The project is being delivered on a co-financing basis from the federal and regional budgets; the project operator is JSC ArcticTelecom, the republic’s telecom operator and one of its designated strategic enterprises. Cable for the project is being produced at Russian plants. Arctic Synergy involves the construction of more than 7,000 km of fibre optic communication lines in the extreme conditions of the Arctic and in remote areas of Yakutia. The aim of the project is to close the digital divide: by the end of 2028, modern communications will reach 61 settlements with a combined population of around 50,000 people. The supplier was selected with regard to requirements for material reliability under the extreme climatic conditions of the Arctic zone, and also with regard to logistical capability for delivering the products to the warehouse in the settlement of Nizhny Bestyakh, Republic of Sakha (Yakutia). The bulk of the supply consists of direct-burial cables with 16, 24 and 48 optical fibres, developed to the customer’s technical specification for installation in difficult permafrost ground, together with aerial cable rated for demanding climatic operating conditions. All designs were verified at Incab’s own Test Centre and demonstrated high reliability in the test results. I would note that, following the first tender, the cable for the 2026 stage of the project has already arrived, passed incoming inspection and been handed over to the contractors. The entire volume of cable required to deliver Arctic Synergy will arrive at our site before the end of this year.” Alexander Smilgevich, CEO of PJSC Incab Holding: “In the Arctic, cable has to work with no margin for error. We developed the designs for the specific conditions of permafrost and tested them at our own Test Centre before shipping.” Delivering Arctic Synergy will give Arctic residents access to the full range of digital services at speeds of 100 Mbps and above, and will provide a powerful impetus for the social and economic development of Yakutia as a whole.
